African women, who have ended up unaccompanied in Greece with their young children, expose their issues with immigration and integration in the film My Cotton Family shot at the ARSIS shelter
2012-2019 ARSIS shelter, Athens, Greece
Women of African origin who have found themselves unaccompanied in Greece with their young children due to persecution from their countries of origin, expose their issues with immigration and integration in the documentary My Cotton Family by Menelaos Karamaghiolis, which is filmed for two years in the ARSIS shelter.
In 2017 the short film Breaking Isolation in the Center of Berlin documents the issues and requests of refugees stranded near the border who occupy a square in Berlin. One year later, the film captures the dissolution of the camp, just before the police start evacuating the square.
The research of the film continues until 2019 and is part of the augmented material of the interactive documentary series Meetings with Remarkable People.
