Tribute to Nikos Nikolaidis: Screening of Sweet Bunch and Q&A with Marie-Louise Bartholomew and Theodora Pikrou | Døcumatism supports the students’ struggle to preserve Irida Cinema
The Døcumatism collective actively supports the students’ struggle to preserve the historic Irida Cinema as a space for screenings, workshops, and experimentation with the cinematic medium. In collaboration with the coordinating team, the collective organized a series of activities for the 2023 annual festival.
At the historic Irida Cinema, as part of the Irida Visions festival and in support of the struggle of the students of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, who are fighting to keep the cinema alive as a cultural hub through festivals, workshops, and weekly seminars with free admission, a tribute to Nikos Nikolaidis was organized, featuring a screening of his film Sweet Bunch (Glykeia Symmoria).
The screening was followed by a discussion with Marie-Louise Bartholomew, collaborator and partner of filmmaker Nikos Nikolaidis, and producer Theodora Pikrou, with the participation of the audience. The discussion was moderated by filmmaker and Døcumatism collective member Menelaos Karamaghiolis.
The event concluded with a presentation of the new edition of Nikos Nikolaidis’ book Pigs in the Wind (Gourounia ston Anemo).
