Screening of the AfroGreeks – prologue and the AfroGreeks – Live Events highlights, 2019-2023 during I HAVE A DREAM: UNITED SECOND GENERATION festival organized by the ANASA Cultural Center of African Arts

In the context of the three-day festival I HAVE A DREAM: UNITED SECOND GENERATION on the occasion of the celebration of Black History Month in Greece, Døcumatism was invited to participate by screening the video the AfroGreeks – prologue, 2015-2019 and the AfroGreeks – Live Events highlights, 2019-2023.
With the aim of empowering and bringing together on an equal footing organizations for young and older immigrants, as well as solidarity and human rights organization, the festival aimed at regular and multi-level cooperation, joint action and institutional pressure for the satisfaction of the demands of the second generation.
The events of the festival included book presentations, film screenings, concerts (music and dance), art exhibitions, activities and discussions about the individual and collective struggles, dreams and experiences of the African diaspora in the city of Athens, aspiring to highlight the cultural stigma of the African diaspora communities in the city and thus enrich the debate on citizenship, nationality, and multiple identities and practices of coexistence in Athens.
