Døcumatism, together with non-governmental organization ARSIS (Association for the Social Support of Youth) and sociologist Katerina Poutou took public action to suspend the deportation of Loretta Macaulay who is the president of the United African Women Organization, has lived in Greece since the 80s and later became one of the main protagonists of the AfroGreeks project.
Loretta Macauley is an activist and founder of the United African Women Organization in Athens, one of the oldest African political communities in Greece which was founded in 2005. The organization was created to raise awareness on various issues concerning African women and their children in Greece, to create mutual bonds of solidarity between Africans and Greeks, and to participate in and strengthen all the fights for human rights and against police oppression which has been targeting the African communities. The United African Women Organization has been one of the most inspirational groups for political participation among the African communities. Loretta is from Sierra Leone and has been in Greece for over 37 years. It took her 17 years to obtain her residence permit.
3/9/21 Loretta was recognized as a Greek citizen after many struggles. Døcumatism and Menelaos Karamaghiolis were honored to be some of the few friends Loretta invited to attend the ceremony.
10/23 Loretta was a candidate for councilor in the municipality of Athens.
